LAW 749 - Legal Profession Seminar
This seminar will effect issues that are affecting the legal profession and the way lawyers practice law. It will deal not only with legal issues raised by groundbreaking litigation involving the role of lawyers and the profession, but it will also examine economic sociological and jurisprudential literature on the profession. The seminar will give students an opportunity to consider in depth interesting topics related to professional responsibility that were introduced in a more fundamental way in the required course that every student in the seminar must take as a prerequisite. The seminar will also look at professional responsibility liability in the form of legal malpractice, breach of fiduciary duty and other forms of civil action against lawyers. The seminar grade will be based primarily on a paper , on a topic approved by the professor in a style and content that would meet the standards of the Law School's Upper Level Writing Requirement. Enrollment limited to 14 students. Prerequisite: Professional Responsibility.
