LAW 614 - Comparative Criminal Procedure Seminar
This seminar will compare the criminal processes of several countries, including the United States, from the bringing of a criminal charge through trial and appeal. Taking a comparative law approach, topics to be covered include the impact of political, social and demographic factors on criminal justice systems, the roles of the prosecutor and defense counsel, the requirement of pre-trial disclosure, plea bargaining, and the right to silence. A paper will be required. Enrollment is limited to 15 students. Suggested Prerequisite: Criminal Procedure Adjudication.
