|ED 658 - Understanding Writing Processes|
Course Description: This course introduces a repertoire of strategies for writing with children and explores models of integrated writing programs. Writing is examined as a recursive, developmental process. Participants will explore the writing process through their own writing experiences as well as through an investigation of relevant professional reading and current research. Topics addressed include the teacher as writer, research on students' writing development and writing instruction, processes and modes of writing; descriptive, narrative, expository, persuasive, and writing assessment models.
